History of Windsor

Windsor is a small town in the Eastern Townships Region of Quebec, Canada, whose name honors the residence of the royal family in the United Kingdom. Paper production has been a part of the town’s history since 1864, when the Windsor Mill became Canada’s first chemical pulp facility. The region’s great depth of experience for this craft has ensured substantial growth over the past 150 years, making today’s Domtar mill Windsor’s largest employer with over 800 workers.
