Recognition From United Way

In March, the Hawesville Mill, along with Local USW 1261, was recognized at the Hancock County Chamber meeting for being strong supporters of United Way. In 12 of the past 13 years, the mill has received the President’s Award for being the county’s top donor. This year was no exception; we again received the President’s Award along with the Community Spirit Award and Campaign Chair Award for our efforts in supporting United Way of the Ohio Valley, thanks to our generous workforce.

Renae Pierrard, mechanical planner, received the Martin Robertson Memorial Award, the highest recognition of service from United Way of Hancock County. Martin Robertson was an activist advocating and working for the betterment of those in Hancock County. He is still known by many as the standard bearer for community service. Renae is dedicated to helping others and has worked countless hours on United Way of Hancock County. She is also a member of Hancock County Relay for Life and donates her time to the Hancock County School System and several other causes and activities. U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie, along with Mrs. Robertson, was on hand to present the Martin Robertson Memorial Award to Renae.
