Port Huron is working to be a hub of innovation for Domtar and recently, leaders gathered here to discuss innovative projects. The group included Steve Makris and Tim Sergeant from Personal Care; Mark Andrea, Lewis Fix, Bill Edwards and Mark Bessette from Pulp and Paper; and Nancy Klembus, vice president of intellectual property. The group considered presentations about a dozen innovation possibilities, ranging from personal care garments to packaging for the surgical theatre to bio-based food additives.
At the close of the session all participants agreed that it was an excellent way to expand networks and look at existing projects in new ways. Mark DeAndrea said, “This meeting helped to increase the lens that we view the company through, expanding our collaboration.”Share
