Marlboro Mill Weaves Domtar into Fabric of the Community
For many years, autumn has signaled the launch of Domtar’s United Way fundraising campaign. And while donating to the United Way may not be unique, its effects on the Marlboro County certainly are.
As the county’s largest employer, Domtar’s operations have far-reaching impacts. The company leverages its influence to make a positive difference in the community, and that extends to its support for United Way. In fact, nearly fifty percent of Marlboro’s County’s United Way funding comes from one source – donations from Domtar’s Marlboro Mill. Year after year, generous mill employees heed the call to help their neighbors by donating to the annual United Way collection drive, and the results are amazing.
Beyond monetary donations, Marlboro employees also give generously of their time. The mill’s Purchasing Buyer, Sandy Donaldson, currently serves as the County’s United Way President, knowing how the organization helps improve lives in her own backyard. The organization’s “Live United” message truly resonates with Marlboro employees, who year after year provide critical funding towards the United Way’s mission of improving lives.Share
